The Grand Architect

Have you ever thought you were in charge? You see yourself making all the brilliant decisions and the right choices, you feel you are on top of the situation, until it dawns on you one day; you are not so intelligent.

I saw Psalms 1:6 today. Yes, I saw it. Prior to this time, what I’ve probably done is glance through the pages and hop to the next page.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms 1:6 NKJV

I wondered, why mention that God knows? It’s a fact that can be easily taken for granted, God knows, of course he knows all things. So….does that mean he doesn’t know the path of the ungodly? I mean, He knows the path of the righteous, great! But juxtaposing that thought with the path of the ungodly ending in peril didn’t make complete sense to me.

Then it dawned on me, that the Lord knows the path of the righteous because he fashioned it, he authored it, he designed it.

The way of the righteous is not haphazard, it is not an accident, it is not the result of an oversight nor the momentary loss of control, it is a life deliberately crafted and design.

God charts the road you take.

Psalm 1:6a MSG

The truth in these words has overwhelmed my heart, filled me with gratitude, confidence and HOPE.

I decided to take an inward journey, to look at the landscape of my life till this moment, and all I could see is the tapestry of goodness, beautifully woven into the narrative of my life.

Be careful of the lens you use when you do the same; until your perspectives are shaped by the goodness of God, you would always get the story wrong, always.

Because when I took that inward journey, I saw the night seasons too, I saw the days of pain, questions and disbelief. I saw the mistakes and the resulting consequences. Yes, I saw the days I questioned God’s goodness and his ability to save, I saw the days I retorted in Martha’s language “if only you were here, my brother would not have died!”(John 11:21)

But….I saw something else. I saw the backdrop, I saw the canvas, I saw the brushstrokes, I saw the Master Potter, I saw his gentle but firm hands, I saw him. I saw him controlling the narrative. I saw him declaring over me “this will end for your Good”. I saw him singing over me in the night seasons, I saw him PRESENT in the days of difficulty, quietly releasing strength, courage and hope.

What do you see?

There is NO DETAIL of your life that is a mistake. There is a God who has thoughts and plans concerning you, and they are not evil thoughts, the end of those thoughts is to bring you into peace, and a glorious future (Jer. 29:11).

You need to see this; that one of the greatest gifts God would give you on this side is not a land with a rose coloured scenery, but the one of the greatest gifts he would give you on this side is JOURNEY.

It is on the Journey that we lose the temporary for the Eternal. It is on the journey that perspectives shift and we become a different kind of Man. When God takes your hand for a walk, He is giving you the gift of Journeying with him. On that journey, covenants are made, nations are birthed, intimacy grows, and ownership happens.

Yes, ownership, because you have walked in places not reserved for mortals, and engaged in conversations that transcend the order of your day, in that moment he has poured himself into you, and you have lost yourself in him.

On that journey, you know him in a way that you know him. A look means something, a touch, a smile, a word, never to be taken for a casual movement, but you see the meaning behind the meaning, because you have walked in places beyond the definition of men. You have touched places yet to be seen in your day and taken hold of promises that would define the course of nations yet unborn.

Journey………

Know this, the master architect makes no mistakes. Your life is not a mistake, neither is your story.

I believe the reason why the path of the ungodly will perish is because that path is not authored in him, nothing good exists outside God, and nothing lives outside him.

You will know, you will see it, and you will experience it, the goodness of the grand planner of the universe, who has lavished the earth with splendor and glory. How much more you?

Dear soul, you can REST.

The grand architect of your life has got you covered.

Even now, he is unfolding the plans he has designed for your life, for a time such as this. Plans of peace, thoughts of goodness, to give you a future and a hope.

Rest.

Be in awe.

Rest.

The grand architect is in charge.

Omo Oba.
