Honestly, I am not excited about this new blog post. The feeling I have right now is more of remorse than excitement. Why? This message should have gone out before now, and I am gradually seeing the implications of not running with the Word of the Lord when He gives it.
All that has changed now, by the mercies of the Lord.
I want to talk about THE SEED.
But I’ll start by sharing an experience I had some months ago. Sometime in November 2017 (27th to 30th), I was desperate for a break, I was tired of the noise within and I needed some quiet. I was also hurting real bad and I just wanted to crawl before the Lord and cry my eyes out.
So I went to this retreat centre on the outskirts of Abuja, alone with God camp in Kwali, Abuja. On one of those days, I had a prophetic experience that emphasized my understanding about the dynamics of seed and stewardship.
That fateful morning, I was on my way to a prayer hut on the camp ground. Suddenly, I saw a field with giant seeds protruding out of the soil. The seeds seemed to have matured to the level that I saw in the vision. They looked like easter bunny eggs to me, and they were HUGE.
On some seeds were written names, some had years written on them. I saw 16th century dates, 17th century dates, etc. I saw names like; A.W Tozer, Jane Lead, Oswald Chambers, the Wright Brothers, and others.
I saw Angels take some of these huge seeds, they would stand over a nation and break it open! The content of these seeds would pour over that nation as tiny particles, they looked like wrapped sweets to me.
These deposits were falling on people, some were receiving it with wonder, joy, and awe. However, I was wondering why the labours of these men and women should be given as a seed again, and the Lord answered my thoughts. He said “nobody would sleep today and wake up as Kathryn Khulman tomorrow. Faithfulness is required.”
I came out of that experience with a sense of awe and some measure of common sense that I didn’t have before. OK, forgive the common sense stuff, call it wisdom. Either way, I got some sense.
Every deposit that the Lord gives to us comes in seed form, yet that seed has the potential to grow exceedingly, abundantly above all we could imagine.
Mathew 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,
13:32 “which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
Divine seeds has a great potential for a massive growth, but the responsibility lies with us. We would either sow our seeds, eat them up, or carry them about to show off.
There is nothing impressive about a seed with the potential to be a tree, bearing 12 manner of fruits every month, if you won’t take take the first step of sowing it. That is called stewardship.
Stewardship entails a responsibility for what has been committed to you. What seed are you carrying about? What are the prophecies you have received? Your seed could be a gift or ability, divinely inspired ideas, money, or opportunities.
What you do with what you have today would affect what you get tomorrow. Farmers don’t leave their seeds on the shelf forever. They put their seeds in a fertile soil, they remove weeds that try to choke the seed, they build fences to protect the seed from birds and other animals. They guard against erosion, they protect from the scorching heat when some seeds begin to germinate, they do everything possible to nurture that life to maturity.
Creation awaits the showing forth of sons. The seed has been sown already, when that sinless Lamb of God gave Himself as a ransom, as a seed sown. Now, it is left to us, whether we would be faithful with this seed, or we would act like nothing was ever sown.
Within every man is the seed of the Divine. That seed is destined to bear kingdom fruits on earth, to be a mighty tree on earth. If we have been called to be Trees of righteousness (Isaiah 61:3), don’t you think a tree is first a seed? How are you investing your life in God’s eternal purpose?
You ask what next? What must I do?
The birth place for every Divine seed is the SECRET PLACE. That is is the place of incubation where the accent of divine whispers is received and mastered. It is the place of fellowship and communion.
It is in the place of divine interaction that seeds are sown. If it takes the Divine to sow a seed, it would definitely take the waters of the Divine to nurture that seed, because the seed itself is not earthly and it is not subject to the earthly order. To try to subject that incorruptible seed to earthly norms would end in frustration for the CARRIER, not the seed.
The place where you nurture that seed is also the secret place. You need the SEED GIVER, from the beginning to the end, without Him you can do nothing (John 15:5)
The Holy Spirit is an amazing genius. He would lead you through. He would lead you to the resources you need. God knows what He has deposited in you, and He knows the journey that would help you bear fruit.
He leads us in the path of righteousness for His name sake.
God in his unfathomable mercy led me to a storehouse of books at the age of 15, and he provided the money to buy them. Then He gave me an unexplainable hunger to read and learn. I am still on that course.
You need to understand that stewardship is not passive, it is deliberate and intentional. It demands ACTIONS. It calls for SACRIFICES. Stewardship is a RESPONSE to the seed sown.
The secret place is not the place to just receive the latest word of the Lord and enjoy the feeling of being spoken to. It is also the place to RECEIVE STRENGTH TO RUN with the words received.
Every Divine deposit demands a RESPONSE from you.
You could start with keeping a JOURNAL. Write every word, every dream, every thought, idea, record every movement, record every fear, journal everything, and present it always before the Lord for the release of his breath.
Journaling is a deliberate response that says you are ready to take responsibility for everything the Lord has spoken. Truth is, His words won’t return to Him void. If that seed doesn’t find an accurate response with you, it would eventually go to many others who would cultivate it, and bear fruit to the glory of the Lord.
Proverbs 21:31 (Passion Translation)
You can do your best to prepare for the battle, But ultimate victory comes from the Lord God.
Glorious things are spoken concerning this generation. Ground shaking victories await us. Glorious exploits are recorded in eternity, with our names boldly tagged to them. Yes, the Lord is able to bring them to pass…
But we must do our part in the PREPARATION . Prepare the horses, prepare them well, with your heart armed with the truth, that the Lord is committed to give us VICTORY.
