Before I woke up this morning, I had a thousand and one legitimate things to do. I needed to do my laundry, do some transactions at the bank, see my stylist, meet up with someone, I have meetings in the church, and so the list goes on.
In the light of all these activities, there was no provision for the secret place. No plans to spend QUALITY TIME before the Lord. God is out of time, yes, but I must be a faithful steward of time in my journey with God.
I was angry, angry at the fact that every other thing would deplete my energy with no provision for receiving strength in the place of waiting.
I canceled everything. Yup. I reshuffled my priority. The laundry can wait. Some of the meetings can be rescheduled. I reordered everything.
When waiting on the Lord becomes the most important thing in our lives, every other thing finds its place and space.
Our secret place with God is a sacred space Satan is constantly fighting for. When ANYTHING begins to look more important than waiting on the Lord, there is a problem.
This goes beyond the activity of study and prayer, it also affects your INNER SPACE. Your inner space must always be in a place of stillness and communion with the Lord.
Fight the cares of this life that seek to CHOKE the birthing of Divine processes in you. When the thoughts fly at you, remember you have strength in God to bring them under the obedience of Christ.
You come under whatever you esteem as High.
Man is under God, every other priority comes under man. Nothing should make you a servant. Not your job, friends or family, commitments, not even ‘ministry’ as we have defined it.
Man defines his priorities under God. The first and greatest priority of our lives is to keep that sacred space we share with our Lord. That place where He is the only reigning King of our lives. Nothing must take that space.
It’s amazing how after I have drastically cut off some things from my schedule, heaven is still standing. Lol.
The pillars suspending the heavens are yet to fall because I canceled some activities that were encroaching on my sacred space.
Never forget you are in charge, under God. You are responsible for how much of God you would receive in your day. Only available vessels are fit for the Master’s use.
Your generation needs you. Many would seek for you, because a Man would be like a hiding place from the storm, as rivers of water in a dry place…. (Isaiah 32:2)
But you must never forget this, that it is out of your heart that life would flow (John 7:38).
It is those who wait on the Lord that is strong.
You are only useful to your generation to the measure that you are willing to stay with the Lord in the secret place. Your sacred space.
Fight for it.
