FAITH IS NO RESPECTER OF FEELINGS

I haven’t felt like doing a lot of things lately. Maybe I should list some;

I haven’t felt like keeping relationships.

I haven’t felt like resuming at work.

I haven’t felt like handling some responsibilities.

I haven’t felt like helping others, going out of my way to reach out.

I haven’t felt like studying the word in depth.

I haven’t felt like praying for a long time…the short ones would do.

I haven’t felt like……… a lot of things!!!

But I realised something today. Until now, I haven’t done any of those things above because I felt like it, I did them because I found grace to do them, and my feelings flowed from there.

My feelings didn’t define my course, my course defined my feelings.

We seem to have given so much credit to how we feel about things or people. People pull out of relationships because they don’t feel like it.

Infact, I don’t feel like updating this blog right now, but here I am, doing just that!

Why? I am COMMITTED to LIVING. I am committed to allowing the life of God to find expression in me, whether I feel like it or not. I am committed to the flow of the rivers of living waters from within.

How many times have we hindered the invasion of Heaven into the earth because we don’t feel like it? How many times have we missed opportunities to set our world aglow with the fragrance of Heaven, just because we don’t feel like doing that extra thing required? And how many times have we found ourselves in a classic mess because we listened to our feelings?

I am not playing down the place of our emotions, especially that of a believer who is renewing his mind in the Word. I am only emphasizing our starting point – Faith in God’s unchanging character.

The generation that would do Kingdom exploits must learn to live from the place of faith in the unchanging character of God, and not live by the flow of their wavering feelings.

True obedience to God is expressed when we hold ourselves accountable to his commandments, regardless of how we feel.

Hold on a sec.

Obedience is not always in doing something externally, sometimes Obedience is in the POSTURE you take in every season of your life.

Faith is first a posture of your heart, before it is expressed in action. Faith is your heart falling in line with the Master’s Heart.

Usually, I picture myself myself at the battlefront, and the Master gives the order : have faith in me! That’s my battle formation.

So I tell my heart, “Dear Heart, we are maintaining our faith position, and your stance is not anchored on what you see around you, it is anchored on the voice that has spoken”.

As far as I’m concerned, maintaining a faith position is as valiant as Aragorn slashing through enemies in battle (Aragorn is my favorite character in the movie – Lord of the rings).

One day Papa told me “Mary, you are never ready”.

I knew Papa would never condemn me, so I was wondering what He meant.

He said “you are never ready for Kingdom exploits, you are never ready for miracles, you are never ready to step out in boldness, but I respond to Faith”.

Let me put that in context; if you keep waiting for your feelings to give you the ready signal for Kingdom expressions on earth, you won’t see it. If you wait for that great day that you would feel like miracles still happen, so you ask for it, then you won’t see it.

Our realities are shaped by the word of God, and our feelings fall in place. Period. Even when we don’t feel like it, we choose to deliberately believe in the unchanging character of God.

The key to an extraordinary life in God is a resolute commitment to the Heart of God for us, regardless of what our feelings say….. or don’t say.

My friend told me “Mary there is so much in us for the world”. A people committed to Heaven on earth would always feel the movement of faith within, amidst the ruckus of the doubts and fears that tries to drown them in unbelief.

It is time for our generation to herald the coming of our king, in all his majesty and splendour.

It is time to lift our eyes beyond what we see, time to gaze into the unchanging heart of God that ever flows in Love towards us.

It is time to look at our giants in the face and laugh at them.

It is time to dream dreams and see visions, as our hearts surrender to the rhythms of his love.

It is time to call forth the living from among the dead, for a new song is rising from within.

It is time to ask God for what is impossible to men, because Papa’s heart to us is yea and amen.

It is time to define the course of our day according to the declarations of the only true King.

We call forth the dawn of a new day because a people has shifted.

We declare a change in the order of our day because a people have ascended His holy Hill.

We declare that trees bear fruits in and out of season, because our course is not subject to time.

We declare joy to those that mourn.

We declare it is a season of miracles because it is the realm in which we live.

We embrace the future in our day because that is where we live from.

We declare we live by faith regardless of what our feelings say.

We are a generation of people committed to the Father’s heart. We live by Faith. We live by the stirrings of love on the inside. We respond to the beckons of the Spirit of Truth, and we embrace the journey of adventure into His Heart, regardless of what the rational says.

Faith is no respecter of feelings.

Just….do it.

P.S I didn’t feel like posting anything today, infact I didn’t know what to write! But I chose faith, one word at a time, one line at a time, one paragraph at a time, one thought at a time, one post at a time.

Faith.
