This morning I caught myself ‘travelling in my mind’. Trust me, I had reached Alabama before I snapped out of my reverie!
I had some burdens on my mind, projects I’ll love to embark on, and I was just drawing circles in my head on how to execute them all.
Then I asked myself, ‘why would scripture tell us to set our minds on things above, when there are issues to deal with here on earth? After all, there are needs to be met HERE and not THERE?’
I answered myself; ‘if I keep engaging the problems here on the same level at which it is being engaged by every other person, then I’ll get the same results, and I’ll be NO DIFFERENT after all. What makes the difference is the PLACE I’m living from, the perspectives that shape the course of my life and my decisions. The key is DIVINE INTELLIGENCE’.
As soon as I said that, I started praying for divine intelligence. I told the Lord I don’t want to be overwhelmed by the things that overwhelm men without hope in this world, there should be something about the narrative of my life that exemplifies my kingship and priesthood in God.
Remember, what led to this conversation with God was a seeming mountain of needs that I wanted to respond to.
While I laid my head on my table at work and I prayed in tongues, I saw a vision.
I saw a quagmire, it looked like a firm surface, but you won’t
know till you have stepped into it, and you find yourself being sucked in. Directly above this picture, I saw heaven opened , with light streaming through at a great intensity, and there was a force being released through that opening, it felt like suction force. The force was released to PULL OUT OF THE QUAGMIRE.

This is the understanding I got.
On this side we would have some needs that need to be met , but we cannot afford to engage them on the same level of fear, worry, anxiety and unbelief as the world does. Neither would your reasoning, plotting nor scheming be of much help to you. If you go through that path, you would be ‘sucked in’ by the quagmire of life and it’s everyday issues.
On that path, you would be doing an injustice to your Father, whom you should recognise as your source for all things, you would also be trampling on your identity as a king and priest unto God.
The other side of the coin shows us that there is a more intelligent way to deal with the issues and cares of life. There is a wisdom in God that executes the narrative of our lives in a very different way from every Tom, Dickson and Harriet
If you don’t know that higher life, that greater intelligence in God, it’s because you have not asked for it, neither have you sought after it. Every one who asks for wisdom would receive from God (James 1:5)
Ever wondered why Jesus told us to seek FIRST the kingdom? Because right there in the Kingdom package is the provision for ‘other things’, and it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom, the real dominion and expression of His kingship over ALL THINGS, not an abstract thought stacked up in my mind somewhere.
If our lives would shine as light in this darkened world, it would be as a result of our decision to live contrary to the darkness in our day. It would be as a result of our decision to live above the pedestal and perspective that “everybody” subscribes to.
You can live by divine intelligence. The Spirit of Truth is the greatest genius of all times, but like Jacob, a God-class maestro is within us and we don’t know!
True reformers are men who have refused to bow to the norm. They are not weighed down by the pressures of everyday life. They live by a wisdom higher than the earth, and they influence the culture of their day by the narrative of their lives.
This is the sum of my gist; you can live an exceptional life. There is provision to live by a higher intelligence in God. There is the WAY to execute your life on earth, in such a way that Kings would have no choice but to come to your light, and your life becomes a learning map for the nations of the earth.
Fellow sojourner, don’t settle for less. Don’t settle for the way that easily appears to you ; worry, anxiety, hopelessness, defeat. Refuse to be cheated, and as you daily commit yourself to live by the conversation that is from above, you are lighting up your world – a beam at a time.
